Judy is an author, lecturer, art critic, and art advisor based in Chicago and Washington, DC. Her novellas and short stories, which are frequently set in the art world, have appeared in magazines, literary journals, and anthologies, as well as in her two books Love Without Asterisks and Love on a Small Island. She has had hundreds of art reviews and other articles published in a wide range of magazines and newspapers.
She has taught fiction writing courses at Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies, in the Trinity College Elderhostel program, and privately. She also lectures on art-related subjects at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington and the Newberry Library in Chicago, and serves on the boards of several organizations devoted to improving educational opportunities for at-risk children in Chicago.
Before devoting herself to art and writing, Judy worked as a litigator, international trade policy specialist, and a member of the Secretariat of the International Olympic Committee. She holds a J.D. degree from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, an M.A. in Writing from Johns Hopkins University, and a B.A. from DePauw University.
